“Domains that end with business.site and negocio.site will be removed from the website field on your Business Profile in March. We recommend that you update your Google Business Profile to point to a new website.” Read more here.

According to Google, the company is shutting down the Google Business profile websites that were previously offered as a free option to businesses with accounts. This will affect 25 million businesses around the world.

What does this mean if you had a website on the Google Business platform? The website button won’t be visible, and Google will prompt the business (or user) to add a website to the profile.

What type of content did the websites have on them? The websites pulled from information listed on the company business profile. It included their company name, services, address/contact info, reviews, and photos uploaded.

What happens if I don’t do anything? From now until June 23rd, 2024, Google will point the url to your Google Business profile. After the 23rd, the user will see a “page not found” error.

Were you affected by this update? If so, and you’re looking for a new website, please contact us today. We’re happy to help!
