It’s 2018 and your¬†focus should be on Google My Business. Why is this important? Because it’s basically free advertising from Google, and from the trends we’re seeing- Google My Business is a much more robust platform to optimize for potential leads.

Years ago we pushed Google Plus business profiles, but there have been many changes in G+, so we feel that at least creating and maintaining your Google My Business account is of high priority for any company. What are the primary reasons why it’s important to claim and maintain your profile?

-Claim it before anyone else does. Do not leave it up to a temp or Virtual Assistant. Keep your proprietary information safe. That being said, don’t trust your account to just anyone- It is very difficult to try to prove ownership of the account once it’s been verified.

-Manage your business information: You can add photos, updated address, manage reviews and more from your profile.

-Your profile will show up in Google Maps: Your listing will appear in Google Maps if someone is searching from a mobile device.

-Add multiple locations: You can add and manage multiple locations from your Google My Business dashboard.

-Share Your Content: You can share your content by linking it to your profile. Remember to use hashtags for your keywords so other users searching for “Pools in Stuart” may come across your profile.

What Should You Do with an Existing Google Plus Account?

Keep it. And keep updating it. Either way it increases visibility and adds backlinks to your url. More online exposure is always a good thing.
